About Great Divide Ski Area
Great Divide Ski Area traces its start to the Belmont Ski Hill of 1941 on Mount Belmont, a 7,300-foot peak on the Continental Divide above the old mining town of Marysville. It has grown into a 1,500-acre area spread over three peaks with more than 100 named runs, several chairlifts, terrain parks, beginner terrain, and one of the largest night skiing footprints of any mid-sized Montana hill. It is run as a family, employee, and volunteer operation rather than a destination resort. In summer the area is closed to the public while crews do lift and trail maintenance.
The base is at 7385 Belmont Drive, Marysville, MT 59640, about 25 miles northwest of Helena via Highway 279 and the Marysville road, with free parking. For 2026-27 the hill plans to open Nov. 28, snow permitting, run weekends through Dec. 20, then daily over winter break, then Wednesday through Sunday (plus Mondays in January) until mid-March, then daily from March 15 to April 4, 2027. Lifts run 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Friday night skiing until 9 p.m. through March 12. Adult tickets are $65, seniors 70 and over $30, military $48, half days $32 to $56, and Friday nights $15.
