About Great Northern Town Center
Great Northern Town Center is a commercial district redeveloped on former Great Northern Railway rail-yard land, on the north end of downtown Helena adjacent to Carroll College. It combines a hotel, movie theater, restaurants, offices and two family attractions run as separate nonprofits: ExplorationWorks science center and the Great Northern Carousel. The district's plaza hosts an outdoor summer concert series.
The district is centered around 885 Great Northern Blvd and Carousel Way, with surface parking lots throughout. The Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel anchors the lodging side; Cinemark operates an 11-screen theater with XD; restaurants include Brewhouse Pub & Grille and Silver Star Steak Company. From June through August, the free "Out to Lunch" concert series runs Thursdays 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the plaza.
