About St. Paul's United Methodist Church

St. Paul's United Methodist Church is a downtown Helena congregation whose sanctuary doubles as a concert room. The Helena Symphony uses it for its Symphony Kids education concerts, free one-hour Saturday morning programs in which orchestra members play 30-minute pieces with narration and actors for children ages 5 to 10, followed by an instrument petting zoo. The symphony has also staged its Mozart by Candlelight chamber concerts there, including a two-night run on Jan. 24 and 25, 2025. The church's own music includes Jazz Sundays, when the CobbleStone Quartet plays through the 10 a.m. service on the second Sunday of each month.

The church is at 512 Logan St., Helena, MT 59601, a few blocks northwest of the Last Chance Gulch walking mall, near the Cruse Avenue corridor. Street parking on Logan Street and the surrounding blocks is free on Saturdays and Sundays, when most concerts happen. Symphony Kids concerts are free and start at 10 a.m.; Mozart by Candlelight is ticketed through the Helena Symphony. The church also runs a weekly True Colors Helena gathering for LGBTQIA+ young adults on Mondays at 6 p.m., a Tuesday morning shower ministry, an annual August garage sale, and a fall lecture series. Phone 406-442-5643.
