About Reeder's Alley Holiday Market

Reeder's Alley, at the south end of Last Chance Gulch, is a row of brick and stone buildings put up mostly in the 1870s and 1880s by mason Louis Reeder, now owned by the Montana Heritage Commission and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over Thanksgiving weekend the alley holds a holiday market. In 2025 it opened Friday, November 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., the same evening as downtown's Celebration of Lights, and continued Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 2025 market had Santa and elves photos in the Stonehouse Grotto, the Holiday Burros on the Caretaker's Lawn on Friday and Saturday (through 4 p.m. Saturday), the alley shops including Aizada Imports and JMac's Pottery, MJ's Antiques Closet in the lower parking lot, and Rockstarr BBQ on Sunday. The format changes from year to year: in 2024 the alley was lit for the first time on the Friday after Thanksgiving and ran a Christmas market with pop-up shops through December. A 2026 schedule has not been posted.

• Friday evening pairs with the Celebration of Lights on the Walking Mall, a short walk north on Last Chance Gulch.
• In 2025 the burros were there Friday and until 4 p.m. Saturday, not Sunday.
• Sunday hours were shortest in 2025, closing at 3 p.m.
