About Grandstreet Theatre

Grandstreet Theatre is a nonprofit community theater founded in 1975 that performs in a Romanesque granite building at 325 N Park Ave, built as the Unitarian church and used as the Helena Public Library from 1933 to 1976. The 200-seat house stages a mainstage season of musicals, comedies and dramas cast from local actors, and the company says about 20,000 people attend each year. Grandstreet Theatre School, an after-school program for second grade through high school with more than 350 students, mounts two of the season's productions.

The theater is on North Park Avenue near Lawrence Street on the west side of downtown. Parking lots are on Lawrence Street, with street parking on Lawrence and Park; accessible parking is on Park Avenue outside the front steps. The box office is open Monday through Friday noon to 5 p.m. (406-447-1574) and 30 minutes before curtain. Accessible doors are to the right of the main entrance with a doorbell, a lift serves the house, assisted listening devices are available at every show, and mainstage shows are ASL-interpreted on the second Saturday evening of each run.
