About Helena Ice Arena

The Helena Ice Arena at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds now goes by Steed Arena, and both names still appear in listings. The 41,000-square-foot indoor rink is home to the Helena Bighorns of the North American 3 Hockey League, five-time Frontier Division champions and 2024 Fraser Cup national champions, as well as the Helena Area Youth Hockey Association, the Helena Figure Skating Club, the Last Chance Curling Club, and adult leagues. It is operated by Dump and Thump Sports. Beyond games and leagues, it schedules public skating, Lazer Skate sessions with the lights down and music up, stick-and-puck, lunchtime hockey, and Learn to Skate classes.

The arena is at 400 Lola St., Helena, MT 59601, off Custer Avenue at the fairgrounds north of downtown, with free parking in the fairgrounds lots. Public skate admission is $9 and Lazer Skate is $11, plus $2 for rental skates; session days and times change weekly and are posted on the arena's ice schedule page. Bighorns single-game tickets for 2026-27 are $14 adult, $13 student, senior, and military, $12 child 12 and under, and free under 3; season tickets are $260 and $240.
