About Helena Bighorns
The Helena Bighorns are a Tier III junior A hockey team in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), playing in the league's Frontier Division. The franchise started in 2004 as the Queen City Cutthroats in the Northern Pacific Hockey League and took the Bighorns name in 2006. Players are 16-to-20-year-olds using juniors to reach college programs; recent Bighorns have gone on to Concordia College, Arizona State and Weber State. The team has won five Frontier Division titles and the 2024 NA3HL Fraser Cup national championship.
Home games are played at Steed Arena (the former Helena Ice Arena) at 400 Lola Street, a 1,600-seat rink, typically on Friday and Saturday nights from mid-September through mid-March. Single-game tickets run $12 to $14 depending on age category; season passes are $240 to $260. Seating is mostly reserved in sections A through G, with general-admission sections H, I and J at the south end of the rink sold online or at the door.
