About Memorial Park
Memorial Park is a roughly 10-acre City of Helena park at 1203 N Last Chance Gulch, on the north end of downtown along the Centennial Trail. It holds the Last Chance Splash Waterpark and Pool, a bandshell, basketball courts, a western-themed wooden playground with a separate toddler area, three reservable picnic shelters, an armed forces memorial and an outdoor ice rink with a warming house. The bandshell is the stage for the State Capitol Band's free summer concerts, and the lawn hosts community events such as the Helena Education Foundation's Carnival Classic each September.
The park has its own parking lot off North Last Chance Gulch and is free to enter. Last Chance Splash runs June 15 to August 15, weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends 1 to 5 p.m. In 2026, daily admission was $7 for resident adults ($8 non-resident), $6 for ages 4 to 13 and 65 and up, and free under 3; the pool takes cash, check or card. Shelter reservations and other questions go through Helena Parks and Recreation at 406-447-8463, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
